The Capirona Tree is native to the tropical lowlands of Peru. Extremely fast-growing, it has fully grown after just 8-10 years of growth. Scientifically the tree is known as Calycophyllum Spruceanum, and when cut is an attractive hardwood for flooring. When left alone, this magnificent tree grows up to 30m. Some shamans are said to invoke it’s spirit to promote calm and peace within the ceremonial space during an ayahuasca retreat.

The Capirona tree (Calycophyllum spruceanum) is a tree that grows in the Amazon rainforest and belongs to the Gardenia family (Rubiaceae) 1.
